Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have an appointment?
De Ma Fille is by appointment only to ensure that a consultant is available to help find your dream gown; as well as having a room to change in. If you do stop by and we have an appointment available, we will happily help. If you have purchased your gown with De Ma Fille, you are still required to make an appointment when your gown arrives if you are wanting to try it on in store; on Saturdays the pick up/try on time is at 9:00 or 4:00. To make an appointment, please call 817.921.2964
What size dresses do you carry in store?
We mainly carry bridal sizes 10’s and 12’s; which fit roughly a street size 6. This is to ensure that we have plenty of styles in our store to choose from. In this past year, we have started “Our Curvy Bride” section and are slowly expanding the styles within this section. Remember, these are just our samples in store and we do re-order in the size you need.
How long is my appointment?
At De Ma Fille, we book one hour appointments. This allows brides to try on approximately 8-10 gowns. If you do arrive after being 15 minutes late we will reschedule your appointment so you may receive a full hour appointment.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
If you would like to wear a strapless bra while trying on gowns, plan on bringing one to the appointment. Panties are required to try on dresses for sanitary reasons. Also, please no spray tans within 24 hours of trying on gowns.
What should I expect?
At De Ma Fille, we listen to our brides first to help her find her dream dress. We make sure to consider style and budget when selecting gowns. Once the consultant and you have pulled some gowns to try on, the consultant will help you into the gowns in a private fitting room. Appointments are an hour long, so generally a bride can try on 8-10 dresses, if not more, in one appointment.
Who should I bring to my appointment?
Finding your wedding gown can be overwhelming. We suggest that you bring only the people whose opinions matter the most to you. This helps keep the attention on you as a bride without too many outside opinions. We can sit comfortably up to 5 guests, if it is more than 7 guests then we need to create a private appointment. We normally double book, so please remember if you bring little ones in that you are respectful of the other appointment going on; if the little one starts fussing you may need someone available to take them outside.
How far in advance should I book my appointment?
This depends on a few factors. If you need a very specific time, try booking two weeks in advance to make sure you get the time you want. Saturdays tend to be the busiest, so those appointments book first. If you are more flexible, we often have appointments available for the next day. Call to check availability.
How long do bridal gowns take to get in?
This depends on the designer. Our gowns can take between 3-6 months to arrival from the order date. This does not include time for alterations. We suggest that you begin your dress search about ten months before the big day and buy your gown no later than eight months before the day. Rushes are available, but limited to certain gowns.
What is your price range?
Our gowns range from $1,200 to $8,000 in price, the average being about $2,000 to $3,500. We are very aware that brides have a budget to work with and work hard to find your dress within your budget. We also have sample sales and trunk shows at times. Please call 817.921.2964 for more details.
Is what I see on a gown exactly what I have to have?
Not exactly. What is great about ordering a gown from De Ma Fille is that changes can be made depending on the designer. We are able to add buttons, lengthen trains, take out petticoats, and more.
Why is bridal sizing so different from my regular size?
Don’t be afraid! It is not unusual to order a size larger in your bridal or bridesmaid gown than you would typically choose in your regular clothes. Sizing depends upon each designer’s individual size chart.
Does De Ma Fille do alterations?
We do not offer in-house alterations. However, we do partner with Tailoring by Rios, the best in Fort Worth. Allowing Rios to do tailoring separate from our store operation allows us to keep costs down and let the experts do what they do best. Alterations are a separate fee and are not included in the price of the gown.
Am I allowed to take pictures in the store?
Yes! We understand that this is a difficult process and you will try on lots of dresses. Taking a photo is a great way to remember what you tried on and where.
What is the delivery time for bridesmaids and flower girl dresses?
Delivery time for bridesmaids and flower girl dresses is 12-15 weeks and rush cuts are available if needed.
How does my bridesmaid know what size to order?
We suggest all bridesmaids have their measurements professionally taken to ensure the closest accuracy. Once measurements are taken, they are compared to the designers size chart and the size is chosen to fulfill the largest measurement. Most everyone will need to plan on alterations to some capacity. Remember, these dresses are much easier to take in and not let out.
What if I have out of town bridesmaids?
We can certainly accommodate parties with bridesmaids in various locations. It is common practice for bridal salons or alterations shops to take measurements. Just have your bridesmaids go to a place that is local to them and then call us with their measurements and form of payment. We solely rely on the measurements they call in so make sure they get professionally measured and remind them they will have to do alterations. At De Me Fille, we charge a flat shipping fee of $30.00 as long as it is UPS ground shipping. If another form of shipping is requested, other fees may apply.
Do you carry Mother of the Bride dresses?
We do not carry specific Mother of Bride/Groom or Grandmother dresses. However, some of our mothers do like to buy the bridesmaid dresses for themselves; which can be lower in cost.
